This was the year in which Queen Mary II moored at the Wilhelminakade, crowning her work so far. Since 1999, Mai has moved heaven and earth to draw cruise companies’ attention to the city of Rotterdam. In 2005, 21 ships visited, and 64 this year.</span></span></div><div><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><br></span></span></div><div><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Mai Elmar has given the city of Rotterdam an impressive future, and 2016 is yet another successful year, welcoming the largest ships in the world (HAL, AIDA, RCI, Princess, NCL). On April 26th, mayor Aboutaleb will present Mai with a decoration, a royal honour for her exceptional commitment.</span></span></div><div><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><br></span></span></div><div><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Mai Elmar has dedicated most of her life to Rotterdam, making sure the city is noticed by the outside world. She became the first Chief Marketing Officer of Rotterdam, city and port. She helped design the brand policy, strategy and character of this remarkable city. CMO will continue to invest best efforts in order to attract even more visitors, businesses, citizens and students in the years to come.</span></span></div><div><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><br></span></span></div><div><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">To this end, RotterdamWorldPortWorldCity and Rotterdam Make it Happen need to cooperate as well. So far they have been very successful, at all levels. Today, a visit to city and port is highly recommended across the world.</span></span></div><p><br></p>
